The Best Way To Save Your Pictures

Enrique Romero

As a photographer, I regularly get calls from Models with whom I have done Photo Shoots, asking me if I still have their pictures because they have lost theirs.  Most Models save their images in their phones; if their phone brakes, is lost or stolen, they lose everything they have.  So here are some suggestions as to how to save your pictures.  For a Model and a Photographer, their photographs are their work, and it is essential to save them in a way they won't get lost.

Buy an External Hard Drive.  Something like a Western Digital My Book, a Western Digital Expansion Desktop, etc.  Title the External Hard Drive - PHOTO HARD DRIVE.

Depending on how much work you do, 2TB, 3TB or larger might be helpful.  I have 6 different external hard drives in which I have all my work saved from 2010 to the present.

Create a FOLDER for each Photo Shoot.

Title the Folder based on the date the Photo Shoot was done and theme.  For example, 2020-0318 Virginia Beach, KB, FL - Enrique Romero   This information will tell you the Photo Shoot was done on March 18, 2020, at Virginia Beach, Key Biscayne, FL, and the Photographer was Enrique Romero

Always back up your work.  Buy a Back-Up program and back your work either up weekly or monthly to the cloud or on another drive in your computer.

After doing all of this, you can now copy your pictures to your phone for quick access and posting.  If your phone is damaged, lost, or stolen, you still have your original images saved in your PHOTO HARD DRIVE
